Hmmm.. Guys..

What type of vehicle should I get?
I'm trading my car in, for a new one.. and I can't decide which one I want..

Either this hummer H3t:

(Which I really like, Cause I've always liked Hummers, and want a truck anyways.. lol

Or, This Mustang:

My dad loves the 'Stang... and my mom hates it, because she said I'll get killed in it (lol)..
I honestly dont like the grabber blue, too well... but I like it better than any of the other colors, the new Mustangs come in...

My friends, and mom are leaning towards the Hummer, which I dont think goes over 100mph.. lmao..but its nice, I guess...

But, I need to pick one now before they sell one of them...
Soo, what would you guys get?

Or, if you have any other car you think I might like, then tell me about it.. I can't spend over $50,000...

Thanks in advance! :D

But, I still would like some input! :/
I have no clue, still...

The Mustang is nice, but Idk if I'd be happy with it...
and I also have a few new options, I looked at:

I wont post pictures, because that takes too long.. haha
but, heres a list of the new options:

2010 Dodge Ram 1500
2009 Chevy Camaro SS
2009 Cadillac Escalade

And thats pretty much it, so I now have 5 cars total.. =/

Help me narrow them down, pleassee.. And I'd love you forever.. :D

We're signing the papers on Thursday.

Haha, I think I'm going to get the hummer... I saw a red Camaro I liked, too.. but I'm not much for cars.. I found that out from my last car, a 2007 Mercedes Benz C-class... Which god side swiped, and pretty much totaled.. Doors caved in, and everything.. It wasnt too safe, lol.. So, I've been driving around my moms Eclipse.. xD

I thought for a while I was just going to fix mine, but they sold it, and when I got home that day I was like: "Wtf? Wheres my car?"

and they was like: "Well, we sold it.. We're going to get you a new car, but make sure its exactly what you want, because this is going to be the last car we buy you.. The next one you get, your going to have to pay for on your own."

So, I pretty much need to find the vehicle of my dreams.. xD
and soon, I'm out of a car... =/

And have been having to take the bus to school.. lmao

Most of my friends want me to get the Mustang, but I couldn't take a bunch of friends with me on road trips, and such.. seeing as how the back bucket seats would barely fit a baby back there.. lol

So, idk.. I'm really confused.. =/

I know the mustang would be a LOT more on insurance, seeing as how its a sports car... and a fast one.. So I would imagine it would be about $500-600 a month on my insurance.. Because the Hummer is $306.. and it doesnt go over like, 110mph..

They really dont give new drivers much of a chance, these days... You have to pretty much be rich to afford the insurance rates if your a young driver on your own. lol

Re: Hmmm.. Guys..

Hummers are stout. I'd find it hard to fuck one up beyond repair in a wreck in my opinion. The original hummer used to be a military vehicle.

Re: Hmmm.. Guys..

I personally wouldn't get the Hummer, but it depends on what you intend to do with it. The Hummer is a fairly large, heavy vehicle and as such it's not as quick to accelerate up to speed, has a reduced top speed, would be quite heavy on the fuel consumption and finally, it wouldn't handle very well going around corners due to its high center of gravity.

The Mustang on the other hand has a much lower stance and weight. It's quick to get up to speed, has a fairly decent top speed, would still be a bit heavy on the fuel (although much less than the Hummer i'd imagine) and would handle in the corners a lot better. I hear they aren't great handlers, but i'd imagine they'd do a lot better than an SUV.

I'll agree the 'stangs blue paint doesn't do it for me either, but that interior is awesome.

The Mustang has a toughness factor that's backed up by its heritage and its hardware. I don't think the same can be said for the Hummer compared to its earlier military versions- from what I hear newer models use much more "car like" platforms and bodies, thus lacking the durability of their military predecessors. On the other hand, if it's purely looks and show you're after, the Hummer will turn more heads visually. I'm not sure about the load space, so I won't comment on that.

I tend to steer toward (bad pun) cars over any form of trucks or SUVs anyway. When i'm out on the road, it's engine power and torque response I need, along with some handling to back it up, so I could never lean toward anything that doesn't excel in both of those areas.

short part - hummer=safe, slow(u crash more times going 100+), lots of room

'stangs=fast,non-safe(good for racing and dying),less room  :)

other cars dont matter...

good looking hummer :)

Re: Hmmm.. Guys..

Well, I mean.. I do love sports cars.. But, your right.. they will get you killed.. And it doesnt have to be your fault, either... Because when I had my wreck, It was a drunk driver who hit me, and destroyed my car, and almost ended my life.. lol

(Broke/sprung everything.. lmao... bruises, cuts, and broken ribs.. About a month after the wreck..)

Huge bruise on my tummy :3

And then finally... Me, on my first day back to school.. about 90% healed... haha.

But, even though I just about got killed.. I've finally decided, I'm getting another Mercedes...

A 2008 Mercedes Benz CLK Class...

Its faster than the mustang, (200mph) but, since the last wreck I had wasnt my fault, I dont think that should matter much.
But, what do you guys think?

Absolutely NO leg room in back seats... =/

Engine Start/Stop button and gear shifter...

Engine.

Laser Key-less entries (The little sqaure box, at the end of the remote, is the Key to start it.. Its all electronic.. lol, weird?

Original Purchase Price (Now you know why I had to buy used!) xD

But, yeahhh...

I drove the Mustang, and all I have to say is... not for me.. The hummer, I felt like I was going to blow it up.. It didnt have much power AT ALL... but, I will say this.. it had a LOT of pulling power... but thats it.. lol

The CLK is the one I'm getting... Had to ABSOLUTELY BEG for it.. lol.. and yes, I know its a little mature for a teenager, but since its my last "free" car from my parents, I'm pretty sure I'll keep it well into my 20's... And plus, my first car was a Mercedes, and I loved it.. (This one is about 200,000 times more nicer than my original one.. lol...)  I test drove this the other day, and I positively fell in LOVE... It had lots of power, smooth drive.. and everything I'm looking for (Except the ability to bring 5+ people with me)  =[

Which is the only con I can think of... Theres tons of pro's, though.. xD

But, what do you guys think? Do you think this will be a mistake, or not... and seeing as how this is such a big decision, I need a lot of advice! haha...

Thanks guys, Tristan.

No, not at all. As a matter of fact I said the Hummer was slower but by no means safer either... the higher center of gravity will put you up above most of the other cars, but the car isn't stronger than a typical sedan and shouldn't be treated as such. I would be less inclined to trust it because i'd imagine it handles like a yacht more than a road going machine. Due to being such a big, high machine though, it has a much higher likelihood of rollover and could be harder to control should you need to stop or turn suddenly, such as to avoid a crash.

The Mustang goes much faster, yes. The engine has a much more responsive power/torque curve and is built as a muscle car, that's no secret. That said it probably employs a lot of Ford's premium safety gear to compensate. (Not that I condone racing, except when it's out on the track) Yes, it does have less room than the Hummer and i'll agree with that.

The Mercedes by far is the one I would pick too. Good handler, responsive engine, low stance on the road so it's quick and agile, is a very luxurious car with a ton of safety features to match and has some class, the badge alone has prestige that sets a benchmark. Not to mention it looks frickin' classy and cool.

I personally have a Mitsubishi Diamante... here in Australia they're called the Verada. The sportier or lower trim levels are called the Magna. They don't have the badge prestige of the Mercedes but are optioned quite nicely, so it's only natural for me to swing toward cars over SUVs or Trucks when it comes to recommendations.

Ultimately though, it's your money, so whatever you want to buy is the one you should get.

Bloody lucky to be picking up one of those though. I'm only 18 myself and damn, I wish I had that much to put into a car. I'm hoping to buy myself one in the first half of this year too, although i'm aiming for one of these instead:

Which are just a little bit cheaper at $5000 Australian dollars. Incredible how good they look when they're lowered a few inches and given some decent wheels to roll on. Engines don't let you down either.

Re: Hmmm.. Guys..

Well, I mean... I do like SUV's, but I dont know... They are pretty hesitate upon acceleration, and handling.

I will tell you this much, though. If you want a truck, that will absolutely FLY, and has pretty decent handling, get a V8 Dodge Ram.

Those things will absolutely get up, and GO.... My dad used to have one, and I raced it against a 2007 Mustang Boss, and it beat it by quite a bit... Its a rather large, extremely heavy truck, and the weight of it makes it like a speeding bullet when you get to a decent speed..
and it doesnt take long, either, with their big v8 Hemi's.

I've always liked Mitsubishi's. They are pretty nice. My mom has a 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse, and she loves it.

And as far as SUV's go, The Mitsubishi Endeavor's are one of the smoothest driving ones I've ever drove.

Your car is really nice, I've never seen any of them here though... Are they only produced in Australia?
and what model is it?

They may make them here, too.. Just by a different name.

:)

And dont worry too much about that "I wish I had that type of money, for a car"
You'll get what you want, soon...

My parents have always helped me establish myself... And I wouldn't even think about putting that type of money into a car, if I didnt have a place to live.. (My mom deeded me their vacation house in Miami.) Which is good, because I've lived in California all my life, and absolutely HATE cold weather.. lol

I've also had to go through hell most of my life, to have what I have today.

My family has had its problems, my mom used to be addicted to cocaine, and that was pretty rough on me.
and my dad is a doctor, and she would always try to get him to write her prescriptions for pain pills.

She'll better now, and doesn't do anything like that anymore. It took a few years for her to recover completely, but things are over now.

And then I went trough a phase a while back, where me and my friends would get wasted... and drive around.. and go on road trips to places... I remember the last time I ever did anything... Its been forever ago.. Me and my friends was sitting on the beach at sunset, and there was a warm breeze blowing, and the ocean so beautiful, and the clouds pink from the sunset... and we was sitting there smoking pot, out of a water bong, and I thought to myself: "If I don't stop this, I'm going to end up just like the people around me... and ruin my life going to harder, and harder drugs..." So I quit that night, and never looked back... I have so many good memories from days like that.. and just the sheer wild things that we would think of... and going in fancy restaurants high as a kite, and the waiter asking us if we was okay... lol.. and just a bunch of crazy wild nights.. that seemed to never end.. I mean, pot made me feel amazing.. Like I left the normal world completely, and entered a better state of being. Where everything was so funny, and peaceful, and nothing was too serious. It scared me, because I knew something that a person liked so much, would be hard to stop... and that if I didnt, it would mean that it would become a life habit. So, I stopped, and never looked back.

After a while, I seen the bigger picture, and fell in love with life... Life, for what it was.. And not under the influence of any kind of drug.
I went to my parents and told them I had a problem that I never told them about, and that I was done with that chapter of my life.. They understood, but I was still punished, as should be.

But, anyways... I got the car 45 minutes or so, ago... They said I could pick it up tomorrow, after they detailed it.
I think I made a good decision.

I like the Mitsubishi's, and I see why you like them too... If I was you, I'd get the Mitsubishi 380.. but Its not my choice, so when that time comes for your new car, just do what I did... and post it on here! haha, you guys really have been helpful. :)

I love it... I really do.. but one of my friends told me today that: "Mercedes isnt much of a well known car, people won't even know you invested a lot in it... they're like a toyota or something..."

It really made my jaw drop, lol.. and I was rethinking getting it, but I guess some people just arent that educated in the field of automobiles? idk... haha.. but I do know what I like, personally...
